Literary semiotics means understanding literary work through the signs existing in it. The word forms a system of signs in a verse and sign means the unity of two inseparable aspects and they are signifier and signified. This approach aims at analyzing the deep structural framework of coherent text in seeks to find hidden meaning. This paper investigates Badr Shaker Alsayyab’s Ode Sindbad City in semiotic terms by descriptive-analytical method. The poet conveys his message by using a set of signs. These signs are separated from their referent applications and have a new connotation in the text. It is possible to discover the signs in title, sound, words and compound level based on retroactive reading. The meaning and deep structure of the text is revealed through analyzing the signs by emphasizing pragdigmatic and syntagmatic axiss, formation and contradiction which is the political and social reprimand of Iraq rulers especially Alghasemi government.
