By analyzing the element of time, it becomes easier to achieve the meaning of the narrative work, because it has a beneficial effect on other elements of the story and involves them in some way. The element of time advances the narrative of any story. The novel "Samaa Qaribeh Man Beitna" by Shahla Al-Ajili is a story in which the element of time is one of the most important elements of the story, which plays an important role in advancing the story. This article attempts to examine the element of time in the aforementioned novel using a descriptive-analytical method based on the theory of Jarre Genette. Finally, it is concluded that Al-Ajili first begins the story's time with retrospection and extratextuality, and gradually ends it with intratextuality and finally with foresight. In order to change the story's time from retrospection to foresight and from internal to external, he involves the characters so that they have a fundamental role in this change and transformation, so that through the characters' dialogue, they change the story's time from external to internal. In fact, the author takes his story out of dryness and monotony.
